New Display Item~Since Microsoft released Windows Vista in Jan 2007 significant problems have surfaced with software running under Vista. This is an 'industry' problem and not one limited to some Tacklesport products. Whilst a majority of Tacklesport software is compatable with Vista some of our older titles will require you to take some action in order to run them correctly.
Installation.
We are not aware of any issues when installing any Tacklesport software. The installation process uses Microsoft's own Windows® Installer which should ensure a smooth process.
Software Titles Affected.
Animated Skill Drills (ASD) Series
The first title in the ASD series was Rugby union, released in 1997 (pre Windows 98), subsequent releases include Soccer, Cricket, Netball, Hockey, Basketball, Rugby League and most recently Australian Rules. Most of these titles were upgraded to ensure that they are compatable with windows XP, however the release of Windows Vista has caused a number of problems which we are hastily trying to overcome.
Fortunately Windows Vista has a function which enables the user to run certain software under previous operating systems. In order to run the ASD series of titles on a Windows Vista operating system you should:
- Install the software as normal.
- Right click on the .exe icon on the desktop (this will be the name of the sport)
- Scroll down to the compatability option
- Select XP
- You also have to option of changing the screen size at which the software will run e.g. 800x600
- Click OK
The next time you double click the desktop icon the PC will automatically run the software under XP conditions.
Animated Skill Drills for Netball Coaching
The Netball software requires an additional action. Under 'Privilege Level' check the box' Run this program as an administrator'
