DigiRugby was recently upgraded to V1.3, with better quality movies and other improvements. An essential resource for every rugby coach.~This multimedia rugby knowledge database is a unique coaching resource that has won acclaim all over the rugby playing world.
DigiRugby Version 1.3 has just been released. V1.3 has the same content as the highly acclaimed earlier version but the layouts have been upgraded and more than half the 200 movie clips have been greatly improved thanks to recently released video compression programs that have made this possible.
Featuring training footage from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and Scotland, DigiRugby Version 1.3 provides a compilation of the world’s best drills for developing Rugby skills.
Originally developed for use by our Rugby League cousins, the Pass Catch Kick Tackle multimedia CD-ROM is also an ideal outreach resource for rugby union development officers, junior clubs and schools.
~“Pass Catch Kick Tackle” is a unique coaching aid that uses a fun approach to teach basic football-related skills to young children.
The exercises in this multimedia CD-ROM are all based on having fun with games, not on complex and potentially boring “drills”.
The resource is ideal for the rugby league or rugby union coach of primary school age players and would be particularly helpful for school teachers of children who have little or no grounding in the rugby football codes.
Games which teach lessons in Pass-Catch, Kick-Catch and Contact-Tackle skills are outlined in both diagrammatic and video format.
The video of each exercise shows an actual learning situation and includes the sound track of a coach or teacher giving instructions to the children.
All rugby league and rugby union-based skills involved in the exercises are broken down and displayed on video with accompanying explanatory notes. There are notes for each exercise, equipment needs and exercise variations (from easy to harder).
Each lesson is broken down into warm-up exercises, skill acquisition and skill application. A coach or teacher’s own written comments can be added to the database of lessons if required and each lesson can be easily printed out.

DigiLeague is co-authored by Queensland, Brisbane Broncos and Australian coach Wayne Bennett, regarded in rugby league circles as one of the most influential and innovative of our modern day coaches.
~DigiLeague is a collection of over 200 training drills and exercises for the game of Rugby League, prepared by some of the best coaches in the business. Over 130 of these drills also have movies showing the drill being performed.

First released in 1992 and now used by thousands of coaches worldwide, "the Honan drills" (as they've become known) in Rugby Skills Training remain as relevant and useful today as when they were first released.~“The Honan Drills” are based on a set of 12 essential drills designed to improve the skill level of every player, from 1 to 15.
First released in 1992 and now used by thousands of coaches worldwide, "the Honan drills" (as they've become known) in Rugby Skills Training remain as relevant and useful today as when they were first released.
Barry Honan's coaching philosophy has always been to concentrate on the skills of the game and to make players aware of what can be achieved once a thorough knowledge of the game is acquired and its skills mastered.
Every coach will get something from the material contained in this skills coaching package.
The heart of the coaching package is the set of 12 drills which form "the drill sequence".
Each drill of the sequence is designed to be performed by every player in a team irrespective of position.
Through constant practice, the team's performance as a whole will improve markedly.
The drills develop mental skills as well as physical ones. Sequencing the drills and performing them correctly and at pace requires great concentration over an extended period of time.
This is precisely the coaching environment in which the higher level skills such as urgency, awareness, teamwork, option-taking and the like are developed.

Some of the best coaches in their field explain the finer points of kicking, passing, attacking, maintaining continuity, constructing set plays and coaching backline fundamentals in this collection of eight DVDs.~Backline Fundamentals Part 1This video outlines the importance of the basic skills in the Backline. Barry Honan and Charles Louw work with a group of Natal U21 players and begin the work of having players understand the benefits of handling precision.
Backline Fundamentals Part 2This video expands on the first in the series and covers the Basic tools of Backline play as well as "PAT" - Position, Angles and Timing.
Backline Fundamentals Part 3Another video in this excellent series. This video examines the methods needed to get the ball into less congested areas of defence, essential for effective attacking play.
Kicking FundamentalsIn this video a legend of South African Rugby, Naas Botha works with players and demonstrates the fundamentals of numerous types of kicks - the goal kick, the spiral punt, the clearance kick, the dropout etc.
Handling Skills, The Basic Lateral PassIn this video Barry Honan teaches the most basic of all Rugby skills - the lateral pass. As a physics graduate with a particular interest in mechanics, Barry presents very clear reasons for every aspect of the lateral passing technique being taught.
Continuity - Attacking the Defensive WallThis video is broken up into two parts. In part I Jake Howard looks at aspects of continuity. He is passionate about correct technique at the tackle situation and makes the point that he preferred to be called the “INSISTENT” Wallaby coach and not the assistant coach.
In Part II, Jake focuses on tactics and drills designed to combat the defensive wall confronted by the attacking team at the breakdown. In particular, he concentrates on “attacking the post” - putting pressure on the defenders close in to the ruck or maul.
Phase Play Attack - B HonanIn this presentation we look at a simple set of structured plays, all controlled by the nominated “first receiver(s)” which make use of penetrators coming from depth and with the added advantage that all players participating in or supporting the attacking play know exactly where the attack is directed, dramatically improving ball retention at the breakdown.
Rugby Set Plays - Barry HonanIn the modern game, now that back row defenders at the scrum must remain bound and lineout ball is more reliable and “clean”, the best phase to attack from is the first phase.~Backline Fundamentals Part 1|digi_back_1|Backline Fundamentals Part 2|digi_back_2|Backline Fundamentals Part 3|digi_back_3|Kicking Fundamentals|digi_kick|Handling Skills, The Basic Lateral Pass|digi_pass|Continuity - Attacking the Defensive Wall|digi_cont|Phase Play Attack|digi_phase|Rugby Set Plays|digi_set|~2336~2423~Animated Skill Drills for Rugby League Coaching, Passing; Runnng; Handling; Support; Decision Making; Play The Ball; Contact; Tackle & Defence; Kicking & Fun and Games.~
