The recent announcement by the Government with respect to school sport (Olympic Legacy Boost – £150 million for primary school Sport in England) – is another endorsement of Tacklesport’s foresight and innovation. Since we began in 1994 we have consistently been arguing the case for the delivery of quality training and resources, particularly in primary schools and at grassroots. The Department of Education has set out the details of its proposals, and these have been commented on in a range of articles e.g. BBC website . Much has been made of the ‘Olympic legacy’ with arguments ranging from ridicule to ringing endorsement. Throughout Tacklesport has maintained its stance that quality is the key; unless parents, teachers and coaches receive the right training and education no amount of money will solve the problem. Not everyone plays sport – but every body moves. Our Move, Play, Learn initiative is one example of how to build a real legacy for each child – why not join us?

The Tacklesport Challenge
by Tacklesportposted in News
Sally Williams’ article in the Daily Telegraph ‘Football academies – kicking & screaming’is, in Tacklesport’s opinion an excellent piece of journalism that exposes the myth of ‘Academies’ – not just in football, but in most sports. They do not produce the best sports people in the world simply because most of the best sports people in the world never get seen; their opportunities for success are snuffed out before they ever get the chance to achieve. In our opinion, Academies can best be described as a sports ‘Lottery’ – pay your money, buy your ticket, and cross your fingers!!!
To prove this we challenge any Academy in the UK to let us show you one video clip; we are confident this will expose the fact that more than 75% of your coaching staff do not know what they are looking at! Have you got the bottle? Call us on 08448487030
